The Kenya Golf Union (KGU) is the governing body for amateur golf in Kenya, committed to growing the game, developing talent, strengthening governance, and enhancing Kenya’s position in regional and international golf. KGU is seeking to recruit a visionary, commercially astute, and results-driven professional to serve as its Chief Executive Officer (CEO).

Reporting to the Board of Directors, the CEO will provide strategic, operational, and financial leadership to the Union while driving governance excellence, commercial sustainability, stakeholder engagement, and golf development initiatives nationally. The successful candidate will serve as the principal link between the Board and Secretariat and act as the public face of Kenyan golf locally and internationally.

Responsibilities

• Implementing the Union’s strategic plan and Board resolutions.
• Providing leadership for Secretariat operations and performance management.
• Driving financial sustainability, sponsorship growth, and commercial partnerships.
• Strengthening governance, compliance, and risk management frameworks.
• Building strong relationships with government, golf clubs, sponsors, affiliates, and international bodies.
• Overseeing golf development programs, championships, and talent pathways.
• Leading a high-performance organizational culture focused on service excellence and accountability.

Requirements

• A Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Sports Management, Finance, Law, or a related field (Master’s degree will be an added advantage).
• Minimum 8–10 years’ senior leadership experience in sports administration, corporate management, membership organizations, or related sectors.
• Proven experience in financial management, sponsorship development, and stakeholder engagement.
• Strong understanding of governance, compliance, and strategic leadership.
• Excellent communication, negotiation, and public representation skills.
• Strategic leadership and execution capabilities.
• Commercial acumen and partnership development expertise.
• High level of integrity, professionalism, and ethical leadership.
