Our client, a leading brand with over 30 years of experience in multisectoral investments across East and Central Africa, is seeking a Chief Finance Officer.

The CFO will lead and manage the finance function, support the CEO in strategy execution, and ensure strong financial governance, reporting, and planning.

Key Responsibilities

1. Strategy

  • Lead development of short and long-term financial strategies.
  • Provide financial analysis to support strategic decisions.
  • Ensure financial targets are implemented across business units.

2. Budgeting

  • Oversee annual budgeting and forecasting processes.
  • Ensure budgets align with strategic objectives.
  • Support CEO in executing company priorities.

3. Accounting

  • Ensure compliance with accounting standards.
  • Oversee tax planning and compliance.
  • Coordinate internal and external audits.
  • Ensure timely resolution of audit issues.

4. Controlling & Reporting

  • Oversee preparation of audited financial statements.
  • Analyze financial performance vs plans and industry benchmarks.
  • Deliver reports including P&L, cash flow, and investments.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory reporting requirements.

5. Risk & Compliance

  • Identify financial and operational risks.
  • Implement mitigation controls and business continuity plans.

6. Treasury Management

  • Oversee cash flow planning and funding strategy.
  • Manage relationships with banks and financiers.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Master’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or Business.
  • CPA (K) and ICPAK membership in good standing.
  • Minimum 10 years’ experience (5+ at senior level).
  • Experience in manufacturing or related sectors is an advantage.
  • Proficiency in SAP and Advanced Excel.
